Extracting text from images with OCR

Use the OCR tool within My Image Garden to extract text when scanning.
  1. Scan the image containing the text.
  2. In My Image Garden, select the image. 
  3. Right-click the image and select OCR from the menu.

  4. The preferred text application (Notepad, for example) opens and displays the text.

Good to know

  • PDF files cannot be converted to text with this function.
  • Text conversion may not be possible depending on the size of the selected image.
  • Only text written in languages that can be selected in the Advanced Settings tab of the Preferences dialog box can be extracted. Click Settings... on the Advanced Settings tab and specify the language according to the language of the document to be scanned.
  • When scanning multiple documents, you can collect the extracted text into one file.
  • The quality of the output depends heavily on the size, font, font size, and orientation of the original.
