Depending on your model, your computer may open a program such as My Image Garden after your document has been saved. You can specify which program your computer opens after the scan has completed (such as Windows Explorer) by scrolling down to Application Settings and selecting the Open with an application radio button. Then, choose a program from the drop-down menu. Select OK after choosing the desired program from this menu.

Choose another program from the drop-down menu to the right of Open with an application. Then, click OK (outlined in red).

You can select Do not start an application from Application Settings if you don't want any programs to open after the document has been saved. However, if you select this option, you'll return to the IJ Scan Utility window after saving your document. Although the document has been saved, nothing will appear on the screen to indicate that the file has been saved to your computer.
