Color inks are consumed in spite of monochrome printing

Solution

1. All ink colors are consumed when cleaning a print head.
The printer will periodically perform a print head cleaning to maintain a high print quality.
(1) Manual cleaning can be executed on the control panel by the user.
(2) Automatic cleaning is performed regularly.
In (1) and (2) above, color inks are consumed even in monochrome printing because cleaning requires to eject all colors compulsory.
2. Black ink is made by using color inks.
There are cases that black and gray are made by mixing color inks such as cyan, magenta, and yellow in monochrome printing. Therefore, color inks are sometimes consumed even in monochrome printing.
