The basic procedure for Foucing Point Selection.

Solution

The focusing point achieves focus over the part it covers. You can select the focusing point in one of two ways: Automatic selection or manual selection
  • In Creative Zone modes, you can switch between automatic and manual focusing point selection

Automatic Focusing Point Selection

  • The camera selects one of the seven focusing points automatically

Manual focusing Point Selection

  • Select one of the seven focusing points manually
Set the Eye Control switch to <OFF>

Press the Button

  • The current AF point will be indicated on the LCD panel and in the viewfinder

Select the desired focusing point

  • Look at the viewfinder or LCD panel and press the key
  • Press the key on the left, right, top or bottom to select the left, right, top or bottom focusing point respectively
  • To return to shooting, press the shutter button halfway or press the button again

Automatic Focusing Point Selection

Display all AF points in red

  • When you try to select an AF point beyond a peripheral AF point automatic focusing selection will be set

Manual Focusing Point Selection

Display the desired AF point in red

  • See the diagram on the left on how the AF point selection changes with the button
  • When you press the button to switch from automatic AF point selection, the selection will start with the cent AF point

Custom Functions

C.Fn-10-1 can disable the in-focus flashing of the focusing point

C.Fn-11-1 enables you to select a focusing point directly with the keys without having to press the button first

C.Fn-11-2 enables you to select a focusing point with the and dials instead of the keys

C.Fn-12-1 enables you to switch to the center focusing point with the button
