Setting the paper thickness lever

The paper thickness lever adjusts the gap between the print head and the print media to suit the print media's thickness. Before printing, be sure to set the paper thickness lever correctly.

Note: If the paper thickness lever setting does not match the 'Media Type' setting in the driver, a warning message will display every time you print.

Set the paper thickness lever to the right (bottom image) position when printing envelopes or on heavy non Canon brand paper.

Set the paper thickness lever to the left (top image) when using plain paper or Canon photo paper.
