*1 Only load Plain paper or Super White Paper in the front feeder. All other types of paper should be loaded in the auto sheet feeder. Loading them in the front tray may cause a machine malfunction.

*2: Make sure to set Credit Card sized paper with the short-side down. Setting Credit Card sized paper with the long-side down will cause paper jam.

*3: Set Envelope with the flap closed.

*4 The Paper Thickness Lever should be set to the right.

Unusable paper

Do not use the following types of paper. Using such paper will not only produce unsatisfactory results, but can also cause the printer to jam or malfunction. Additionally, when printing on A5 or smaller sized paper, do not use paper thinner than a post card, including plain paper or notepad paper cut to a small size.

  • Folded, curled, or wrinkled paper
  • Damp paper
  • Paper that is too thin (weighing less than 17 lb / 64 gsm)
  • Paper that is too thick (plain paper, except for Canon genuine paper, weighing more than 28 lb / 105 gsm)
  • Picture postcards
  • Postcards affixed with photos or stickers
  • Paper that is not rectangular
  • Paper bound with staples or glue
  • Paper with adhesives
