Solution

How to change the paper feeding method (Windows)

Paper can be fed from the rear tray or the cassette. A paper source can be selected from the printer driver.

Procedures:

1. Open the printer setup window.

For Windows 7

  • Click / Select the 'Start' button from the bottom left of the Windows screen, and then click on 'Devices and Printers'.
  • Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Printing Preferences' from the menu that appears.

For Windows Vista

  • Click / Select the 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, 'Control Panel', 'Hardware and Sound', and then click on 'Printers'. Note: If you are in 'Classic' view, click 'Printers' directly from the 'Control Panel'.
  • Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Preferences' from the menu that appears.

For Windows XP Home Edition

  • Click / Select the 'Start' button from the bottom left of the Windows screen, 'Control Panel,' 'Printers and Other Hardware,' and 'Printers and Faxes.'
  • Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Preferences' from the menu that appears.


For Windows XP Professional Edition

  • Click 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, and 'Printers and Faxes.'
  • Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Preferences' from the menu that appears.


For Windows 2000

  • Click / Select 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, and 'Settings,' then 'Printers.'
  • Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Properties' from the menu that appears.


2. The Printing Preferences window of the printer will be displayed.



3. Click the 'Main' tab.

4. Select the most favorable one from the following options in the Paper Source section.

[Paper Feed Switch]

Paper is fed from the rear tray or the cassette, according to the setting of the printer's Paper Feed Switch button. This is selected by the default setting.

[Rear Tray]

Paper is always fed from the rear tray. The paper source selected on the Paper Feed Switch of the printer is not be prioritized.

[Cassette]

Paper is always fed from the cassette. The paper source selected on the Paper Feed Switch of the printer is not be prioritized.

[Continuous Autofeed]

Paper is fed from the paper source selected on the Paper Feed Switch of the printer. If loaded paper is out in one source, the paper source will be switched automatically to the other.

[Paper Allocation]

When the media type and paper size of print data match those of paper selected in the Paper Allocation window, paper is fed from the cassette automatically. If not, paper is fed from the rear tray.

Specify the paper to be loaded in the cassette in the Paper Allocation window. Select the media type and paper size of the paper to be fed from the cassette and click OK.




5. Click 'OK'.

6. Changing the paper feeding method is completed.
