1. Turn the mode dial to the auto flash with red-eye icon
2. stay within approx. 2m / 6ft of your subject

• The red-eye reduction lamp is only effective within this distance

3. Tell your subject to look at the camera

• The red-eye reduction function is not effective unless the subject looks directly at the lamp

4. Press the shutter button lightly

• The red-eye reduction lamp lights up and the shutter will not release for about 1 second
• Keep the shutter button lightly pressed

5. After approx. 1 second, press the shutter button fully

• then flash fires and the shutter is released
