How to load the film

Solution

The shutter will not release if the film is not correctly loaded

  • Use DX coded film. The camera set film speed upon sensing the films DX code.
  • The camera sets film speeds of ISO 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 or 1600.
  • For film without DX code, the camera sets film speed of ISO 100, so when you use film without DX coding, use only ISO 100 film.
  • If you use reversal film (slide film) use only ISO 50, 100, 200 and 400.
To open the back cover, press the back cover latch down in the direction of the arrow

Place the film cartridge as illustrated. Pull the film leader across the back of the camera until its tip is aligned with the orange index.

If the film leader extends past the orange line, take out the film cartridge and manually wind the excess film back into the cartridge.

Make sure that the film leader is between the film guides and close the back cover.

The camera will then advance the film and "1" will appear in the frame counter for about two seconds. Now you are ready to shoot.

If a flashing "0" appears in the frame counter, the film has not advanced correctly, reload the film.
