The lens automatically locks into position at 90mm and you can get as close as 45cm /1.5ft to the subject to take a picture.

Turn the dial to

  • The lens automatically zooms to 90mm and locks into position
  • Position the AF frame over your subject and take the picture
  • If you are shooting at less than 1m / 3.3 ft from the subject, follow the following instructions

Close-up Photography

When you are shooting at distances of 1m / 3.3 ft or less, the area visible through the viewfinder does not match the area actually included in the shot. The area above the close-up frame marking will not be included in the photograph. For pictures taken at distances less than 1m / 3.3 ft follow these instructions

Set the focus
  • Position the AF frame over your subject and press the shutter button halfway
  • Check that the green indicator lights
  • Keep the shutter button pressed halfway down

Compose the shot and take the picture

  • Compose the shot so that the subject is below the close-up frame and then take the picture
  • Do not change the distance from the camera to the subject
