Solution

Using the Canon Setup Utility

The Canon Setup Utility allows you to pre-specify the type and size of media to be printed on from a PictBridge-compatible device without operating your PC (printer driver).

Starting the Canon Setup Utility

If you do not have the Canon Setup Utility installed, you can download it from the support page for your printer (Pro9000 / Pro9500). Be sure to select Software & Utilities as the Download Type.

Windows

  1. Ensure that the printer is connected to your PC through a USB cable and the POWER lamp on the printer is lit in green.

  2. Click 'Start' and select 'All Programs' (or 'Programs'), 'Canon Utilities', 'Canon Setup Utility', and 'Canon Setup Utility'.

The Canon Setup Utility Ver 2.1 dialog box will be displayed.

Note: Ensure that the name of your printer is shown above the 'Select Printer' button. If any other printer is displayed, click the 'Select Printer' button, and select your printer from the 'Available Printers' list. If the PC is connected to two or more printers that support the Canon Setup Utility, a dialog box for selecting the printer to be configured with Canon Setup Utility may be displayed. If this appears, select the name of the printer from the 'Available Printers' list.
