How to use the focus lock mode.
Solution

Although the camera's AI AF function focuses mode subjects, single-spot focusing is useful for focusing subjects extremely small or off-center. Single -spot focusing limits the focusing position to the cent of the focus frame letting you lock the focus on the desired subject.
- Press the self-timer / remote control button for about 2 seconds until the green lamp blinks twice
- Center the AF frame over the subject and press the shutter button halfway.
- The green lamp starts blinking (2 times per second) to indicate that the focus is locked on the subject
3. Keeping the shutter button pressed half-way recompose the picture as desired and then press the shutter button completely to take the picture.
- Single-spot focus is automatically cancelled after one exposure.
