Solution

Aligning the Print Head

Print Head Alignment adjusts differences in the print head position and corrects horizontal and vertical shifts when printing graphs, lines, and text.

Note: Automatic Print Head Alignment cannot be performed from the front feed. Always load paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder.

1. Ensure that the Inner Cover is closed.

2. With the printer on, load two sheets of letter-sized plain paper into the Auto Sheet Feeder.

Note: Automatic print head alignment cannot be performed from the front feed.

3. Hold down the < Resume/Cancel > button until the POWER lamp flashes blue four times, and then release it immediately. The automatic alignment will then commence.




Note: If this is your first Print Head Alignment ever (if you did not perform Print Head Alignment during printer driver installation), the printed pattern will look like the one below.
