How to clean the paper feed rollers

If paper is not being pulled into the printer, cleaning the paper feed roller could resolve your printing problem.

Note: Since cleaning the paper feed rollers causes wear on the rollers, perform this procedure only when necessary.

1. Open the paper feed slot cover <1> and the front tray <2>.
   
   
2. Ensure that the printer is turned on and the power lamp <3> lights steady in blue.
   
   
   
   
3. If paper is loaded in the printer, remove the paper.
   
   
4. Hold down the <Resume/Cancel> button; when the Power lamp flashes blue three times, release the button. The paper feed roller will rotate as it cleans itself.
   
   
   
   
5. Repeat step 4 twice.
   
   
6. Load three or more sheets of letter sized plain paper in the auto sheet feeder.
   
   
7. Repeat step 4. The paper that is loaded in the printer will be fed through the printer and ejected.
   
   
8. If printing problems persist, repeat step 6 up to three times.
