Instructions to change the settings on the machine.

Displaying each setting screen

  1. Press the <HOME> (A) button.



  2. Use the Easy-Scroll Wheel (B) or the right / left arrow to select [Settings], then press the <OK> button.

  3. Use the Easy-Scroll Wheel (B) or the right / left arrow to select [Device settings], then press the <OK> button.



  4. Use the Easy-Scroll Wheel (B) or the up / down arrow to select the item to set, then press the <OK> button.



    < 1 > Print settings

    < 2 > Wireless print settings

    < 3 > Bluetooth settings

    < 4 > PictBridge settings

    < 5 > Other settings



    < 6 > Language selection

    < 7 > Reset setting


  5. Use the Easy-Scroll Wheel (B) or the up / down arrow to select the applicable one from the list, then press the <OK> button.

Print settings

< 1 > Prevent paper abrasion
Use this setting only if the print surface becomes smudged.

Note: When continuing to print with this setting, excess ink may smear inside the machine. After printing is completed, return this setting to OFF.

< 2 > Extended copy amount
Select the amount of image that extends off the paper when printing in borderless.

Note: When setting LARGE, more amount of the edges of an image is reduced.

Wireless print settings

<1> Page size
Set the paper size for printing images from a mobile phone. The available paper sizes are: 8.5"x11"(215x279), A4, Sticker, 4"x6"(101.6x152.4), 5"x7"(127x177.8), Credit card and 8"x10"(203.2x254.0).

<2> Media type
Set the media type for printing images from a mobile phone. The available media types are: Photo Plus Glossy, Matte Photo Paper, Plain paper, Glossy Photo Paper and Photo Paper Pro.

<3> Image optimizer
Smooths out the jaggedness on the contour of an image from a mobile phone. Select from [Image optimizer ON] or [Image optimizer OFF].

<4> Layout
Sets the layout according to the paper for printing images from a mobile phone.

a. Selectable layout for stickers:
Stickers x16

b. Selectable layout for other media:
- Bordered: x1, x2, x4, x8
- Borderless: x1, x2, x4, x8
- Mixed: 1, 2, 3

Note:
* When printing on the Canon special stickers, select the layout according to their types.
* Mixed 1, Mixed 2, and Mixed 3 can be selected only when the page size setting is 8.5" x 11" (215.9 x 279.4) or A4.

Bluetooth settings

<1> Device name
Specify the name of this machine that is displayed on a Bluetooth compatible device.

<2> Access refusal
When this is set to ON, the machine denies access from a Bluetooth compatible device.

<3> Security
When this is set to Enable, the passkey can be specified.

<4> Passkey
Change the passkey.

Note: The setting item "Bluetooth settings" is available only when the optional Bluetooth unit is installed in the direct print port of the machine.

PictBridge settings

<1> Page size
You can specify the page size when printing from a PictBridge-supported device. The page sizes are: 8.5"x11"(215x279), A4, Sticker, 4"x6"(101.6x152.4), 5"x7"(127x177.8), Credit card, 8"x10"(203.2x254.0).

<2> Media type
You can specify the media type when printing from a PictBridge-supported device. The available media types are: Photo Plus Glossy, Matte Photo Paper, Plain paper, Glossy Photo Paper and Photo Paper Pro.

<3> Print quality
You can adjust image quality when printing from a PictBridge-supported device. The available print quality options are: Standard or High (quality-priority)

<4> Border
You can specify prints with a border [Bordered] or without a border [Borderless].

After selecting 'Next' and pressing the <OK> button, Select Auto image fix ON or Manual correction, then press the <OK> button.

When Auto image fix On is selected, the scene or person's face of a shot photo is recognized and the most suitable correction for each photo is made automatically. It makes a darkened face by backlight brighter to print. It also analyzes a scene such as scenery, night scene, person, etc. and corrects each scene with the most suitable color, brightness, or contrasts automatically to print.

When Manual correction is selected, select and set each item. After finishing all settings you need, select 'OK' and then press the <OK> button. You can print from the PictBridge compliant device with specified settings. You can set the following items:

Photo optimizer pro
Automatically corrects the color and brightness of an image. The options are: Photo opt. pro ON or Photo opt. pro OFF.

Vivid photo
Makes greens and blues brighter. Select from Vivid photo ON and Vivid photo OFF.

Face brightener
Makes darkened face brighter when printing photos taken against a bright light. Select from Face brightener ON and Face brightener OFF.

Noise reduction
Reduces the noise which may be seen in the blue areas such as the sky or dark areas of photos. Select from Noise reduction ON and Noise reduction OFF.

Image optimizer
Smooths out the jaggedness on the contour of an image. Select from Image optimizer ON and Image optimizer OFF.

Red eye correction
Corrects red-eye caused by reflection when the flash hits a person's eyes. Select from Red eye correc. ON and Red eye correc. OFF.

Brightness
Adjusts the brightness of a printed image. The available Brightness settings are: Brightness -2, Brightness -1, Brightness standard, Brightness +1 and Brightness +2.

Contrast
Adjusts the contrast of a printed image. The available Contrast settings are: Contrast -2, Contrast -1, Contrast standard, Contrast +1 and Contrast +2.

Color hue
Adjusts the color hue of a printed image. The available options are: Color hue red +2, Color hue red +1, Color hue original, Color hue yellow +1 and Color hue yellow +2.

Effect
Prints a photo using sepia tones only or in the manner of an illustration. The available options are: No effect, Effect: Sepia and Simulate illustration.

Other settings

<1> Date display
Change the display order for shooting dates to be printed.

Note: If a picture is in a DPOF format, the order conforms to the DPOF settings the picture was taken with.

<2> Read/write attribute
Select whether to allow data to be written onto memory cards from a computer.

Note: This setting cannot be changed when a memory card is inserted.

Read/write mode

:

Data in a memory card can be read and be written with a computer.
Printing from a memory card is not possible.
Read-only mode

:

Data in the memory card can be read with a computer.
Printing from a memory card is possible.

<3> Slide show setting
Specifies the photo quality during the slide show.

Note:
* When <Image quality: Std> is selected, images are displayed at 5-second intervals.
* When <Image quality: High> is selected, images are displayed at different time intervals according to their resolutions.

<4> Quiet Mode

Enable this function on the machine if you want to reduce the operating noise, such as when printing at night.

Enabling this function reduces the noises generated while:

  • Copying
  • Printing from a memory card
  • Printing from a PictBridge compliant device
  • Printing via wireless communication

Note : Printing speed may be reduced compared to when this setting is set to OFF.
This function may not be so effective depending on the print quality setting.
Furthermore, certain noise, such as when the machine is preparing for printing, is not reduced.

Language selection

Changes the language for LCD messages.

Reset setting

Changes the settings back to the default (factory settings), except for the language for LCD messages and the position of the print head.
