Description

How to set the Speedlite for Manual Flash mode.

Solution

The 430EZ adjusts the flash intensity within six levels from full flash to 1/32 flash
  1. Press the mode button to display M 1/1 which indicates the manual flash mode
  2. Press the plus and minus (+ and - ) buttons to set the flash intensity
  3. Set the camera to M (manual mode) and then set the shutter speed and the aperture value. If the shutter speed is set faster than 1/250 sec. (*1/125), is is automatically set down to 1/250 sec. (1/125)
  4. Press the shutter button halfway to focus the subject. Read the lens distance scale or make a visual measurement and compare this with the display flash coupling range. Shooting is possible when the flash coupling range nearly equals the lens distance. Perform the following procedures if there is a large difference

1. As the aperture distance changes, the flash coupling range adjusts until it is about the same as the actual shooting distance

2. As the flash intensity changes, the flash coupling range adjust so it is about the same as the actual shooting distance

5. Make sure the flash icon lights and then press the shutter completely
