I am getting a PVMASK or PVTIME error when trying to install ZoomBrowser EX

PVMASK.ocx and PVTIME.ocx are two of the files that ZoomBrowser EX uses to perform its imaging database functions. These files must be installed and registered (appropriate entries made in Windows' Registry) for the program to function properly.

For some (as yet undetermined) reason, these files fail to, or are prevented from, being registered on some systems. This can be corrected by copying the files to the appropriate location, and manually registering them. Proceed as follows:

1. Click on the Windows [Start] menu, go to [Find], then [Files or Folders]. In the window next to "Named:" type pv*.ocx. Ensure that the "Look in:" window show your C: drive, and that the "Include subfolders" box is checked. Click on [Find Now].

2. You should see the two files pvmask.ocx and pvtime.ocx displayed in the lower window. Highlight these files by clicking on the first, then hold the "Ctrl" key down on the keyboard while clicking on the second one. Now click on the [Edit] menu and [Copy].

3. On the Windows desktop, double-click on the [My computer] icon, then double-click on the [C:] drive, the [Windows] folder and the [System] folder. In the System folder, click on the [Edit] menu and [Paste]. This will place a copy of these two files in the System folder so they can be registered. Close the open windows on your desktop.

4. From the Windows [Start] menu, click on [Run]. In the window next to "Named:" type Regsvr32 pvmask.ocx. After a few seconds you should see a message similar to "DllRegisterServer in pvmask.ocx succeeded". Repeat this step for the other file, i.e., Regsvr32 pvtime.ocx (Note: This prodedure is only for Windows 95, 98 or ME).

This version of ZoomBrowser is not compatible with Windows 2000 or XP.
