If the driver has been functioning correctly, use the following procedures to uninstall the driver.

1. Attach the supplied USB cable to the computer's USB port and the camera's Digital Terminal.

2. In the Event Dialog window (Windows 98/Windows 2000), or the Scanners and Cameras Wizard (Windows Me), click [Cancel].

3. Click the Windows [Start] menu and select [Settings] and [Control Panel].

4. Double-click the [Scanners and Cameras] icon or folder. (If there is no Scanners and Cameras icon/folder, use the procedures below to uninstall the driver.)

5. Delete the camera model name from the [Scanners and Cameras Properties] list in Windows 98 or 2000, or the camera icon from the [Scanners and Cameras] folder in Windows Me.

6. For the USB TWAIN Driver: Click the [Start] menu and select [Programs], [Canon Utilities], [Digital Camera USB TWAIN Driver] and [USB TWAIN Driver Uninstall].

For the USB WIA Driver: Click the [Start] menu and select [Programs], [Canon Utilities], [Digital Camera USB WIA Driver] and [USB WIA Driver Uninstall].

Use the following procedures to uninstall the USB TWAIN Driver/USB WIA Driver if: (1) You do not find the [Scanners and Cameras] folder or icon in the Control Panel, (2) your camera model name does not appear in the [Scanners and Cameras Properties] dialog or the camera icon does not appear in the [Scanners and Cameras] folder, or (3) if you installed the USB Driver by connecting the camera to the computer via the USB interface before you installed the driver software from the CD-ROM.

For Windows 98/Windows Me:

1. Click the Windows [Start] menu and select [Settings] and [Control Panel]. Double-click the [System] icon, and click on the [Device Manager] tab.

2. If your camera model name appears under the [Other Devices] and/or [Imaging Device] categories, delete all instances of your camera model by clicking on the model name and selecting [Remove]. Click [OK] to confirm deletion. Close the [System Properties] dialog by clicking [OK] at the bottom.

3. From the desktop, double-click the [My Computer] icon, then the [C:] drive, the [Windows] folder, and the [Inf] folder.

Note: If the [Inf] folder is not visible, click the [View] menu (Windows 98) or the [Tool] menu (Windows Me), then click on [Folder Options]. Click the [View] tab. For Windows 98, set the [Hide Files] section to [Show all files]. For Windows Me, set the [Hidden files and folders] section to [Show hidden files or folders]. Click [OK] to close the dialog.

4. In the [Inf] folder, find and delete the Drvdata.bin and Drvidx.bin files.

5. In the [Inf] folder, double-click the [Other] folder to open it. (Be extremely careful that you do not delete the wrong files from this folder.)

6. Find and delete the [Canon.IncCanon DC], [Canon.IncCanon DC1], [Canon.IncCanon DC2] or [Canon.IncCanon DC3] files. If these files are not found, there is no need to delete anything. If all are found, delete them all.

For Windows 2000 (You must log on as an Administrator to uninstall the Driver):

1. Click the Windows [Start] menu and select [Settings] and [Control Panel]. Double-click the [System] icon, then click the [Hardware] tab and the [Device Manager] button.

2. If your camera model name appears under the [Other Devices] or [Imaging Device] category, select your camera model name and delete it by right-clicking and selecting [Delete]. Click [OK] to confirm. Remove all instances of your camera model name. Click [OK] to close the [System Properties] dialog.

3. Double-click the [My Computer] icon on the desktop, followed by the [C:] drive, the [Winnt] folder, and the [Inf] folder.

Note: If the [Inf] filder is not visible, click the [Tools] menu and select [Folder Options]. Click the [View] tab, and in the [Advanced settings] section set the [Hidden files and folders] category to the [Show hidden files and folders] option. Click [OK] to close the dialog.

4. Look for any file name starting with "Oem" and including a number, i.e., Oem1.inf. There may be many of these files, so carefully check each one to determine if it is one associated with your Canon camera.

5. Double-click on each "Oem" file found to open it in the Windows Notepad program. Look for files which contain ***Canon Digital Camera USB Setup File*** in its first line. Note the number of this file and close Notepad.

6. Delete each Oem file which referred to the Canon Digital Camera USB Setup. Delete the Oem*.inf file and its associated Oem*.pnf file. (If Oem2.inf referred to the Canon camera, then Oem2.pnf also refers to the camera.)
