Installing the TWAIN driver for my camera (Power Shot 600)

Solution

How do I install the TWAIN driver for my camera?

1. Start Windows.

2. Insert installation diskette number one into the appropriate drive.

3. From Windows 95 click the Start button, then Run. From Windows 3.1 choose the File menu, then Run.

4. In the Run dialog box, type a:\setup or b:\setup, as appropriate.

5. Click OK or press Enter when ready. A message box to proceed with the installation appears.

6. The Twain Data Source Manager (DSM) is the software that transfers data from the 16-bit PowerShot Twain driver to your graphics application. When a dialog appears allowing the option of installing either the 16-bit or the 32-bit Twain DSM, in most cases select the 32-bit DSM. The only exception would be if you are using only 16-bit graphics applications, in which case the 16-bit DSM will permit faster running of the program.

7. When the option to install sample images appears, select the option appropriate to your needs and your system. These files will occupy approximately 1.7 MB of hard disk space.

8. Change diskettes as prompted.

9. When installation is complete, remove the diskette from the floppy drive and restart the computer if prompted to do so.
