How do I install the TWAIN or WIA Driver for Windows?

  • Before you connect the camera to your computer, you must install the TWAIN Driver (Windows 98, Windows 2000) or WIA Driver (Windows Me, Windows XP) from the EOS DIGITAL SOLUTION DISK on your computer.

  • Set the camera?s Auto power off function to [Off] before you start installing the driver.

  • You must not set the camera?s main switch to <OFF> until installation ends.

  • For the limitations of the WIA Driver, please click the [Start] button and select [Programs] ([All Programs] on Windows XP) > [Canon Utilities] > [EOS D60 WIADriver] > [WIA Driver Readme].

For Windows 98 SE Users:

1. Connect the camera to your computer correctly.

2. Set the camera?s main switch to <ON>.

  • The [Creating driver information database] dialog box appears, followed shortly by the [Insert Disk] dialog box.

3. Click the [OK] button without loading the EOS DIGITAL SOLUTION DISK.

  • The [Insert Disk] dialog box (details window) appears.

4. Select the drive browse destination.

  • Click the [Browse...] button, open the [Program Files] folder on the drive where you installed the software and select [Canon] folder > [eos d60 twain] folder > [cap_d60.cat]. Then click the [OK] button.

5. Click the [OK] button.

  • Driver installation is completed.

  • This installation is only performed the first time you connect the camera to your computer after installing the EOS DIGITAL SOLUTION DISK.

  • When installation is completed, the [EOS D60 event] dialog box appears. Here, click the [Cancel] button and close the displayed event dialog box.

  • When the message appears prompting you to restart your computer, restart your computer as directed by the message.

For Windows 2000, Windows Me and Windows XP Users:

1. Connect the camera to your computer correctly.

2. Set the camera?s main switch to <ON>.

  • The [Found new hardware] dialog box appears and driver installation is completed.

  • If you are using Windows Me, driver installation is completed without the dialog box being displayed.

  • This automatic installation is only performed the first time you connect the camera to your computer after installing the EOS DIGITAL SOLUTION DISK.

  • When installation ends, one of the event dialog boxes listed below appears, depending on which version of Windows you are using. Click the [Cancel] button to close the event dialog box. If you are using Windows XP, close the [EOS D60] dialog box and the [Scanner and Camera wizard] dialog box.

Windows 2000: The [Event on Device: EOS D60] dialog box appears.

Windows Me: The [Scanner and Camera Wizard] dialog box appears.

Windows XP: The [EOS D60] and [Scanner and Camera wizard] dialog boxes are displayed overlapping.
