Cannot Communicate with Scanner

One or more of the following should resolve the issue you are experiencing:

  1. Download and install the latest version of IS Scan from www.canontechsupport.com.

    Note: Test the IS Scanner Cartridge after installing the latest IS Scan driver. If the IS Scanner Cartridge scans, there is no need to make any additional changes.

  2. Make sure you have the IS Scanner Cartridge installed properly in the printer before starting IS Scan.

  3. For parallel users, make sure your parallel port mode is set for ECP in your computer's BIOS. You may need to contact your computer manufacturer's technical support for assistance.

  4. For parallel users, make sure you are using an IEEE-1284 Bi-directional printer cable, 6 feet or less in length.
