Installing the Printer Driver (Plug and Play)-Windows XP
The following is the installation procedure for plug and play, under Windows XP.
Before you install the software, make sure you do the following:
- Connect the machine to your computer.
- Turn on the machine.
- Start up Windows XP.
- Log on as an Administrator. The full control access rights for the printer is necessary for the installation of CARPS.
- Plug and Play is being carried out and the USB class driver, USB Printing Support, is automatically detected and installed.
- The [Found New Hardware Wizard] dialog box appears. Place the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. Select [Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)] in the ]Found New Hardware Wizard] dialog box, then click [Next>].
- Uncheck the [Search removable media (floppy, CD-ROM...)] checkbox.
- Select [Include this location in the search], click [Browse] to select the driver in the language that you want to install. For example, if your CD-ROM drive is "D:", browse to "D:\Drivers\us_eng\win2000_xp", then click [Next>].
- When the installation is complete, the following dialog box appears. Click [Finish] to close the box.
