Configure Color / Black Button For Scanning

Configure the Color or Black buttons to save the scanned image to a specific location by pressing the appropriate button.

  1. Launch MP Navigator.

     If you don't have MP Navigator, you can download and install it from the Canon website.

    1. To open the Applications folder, click the icon of the hard disk where MP Navigator is installed.

    2. Double-click the MP Navigator 2.2 icon.


      * Display varies according to the printer model.
       

  2. Click 'Preferences'.

  3. Click the 'Color Button' tab or the 'Black Button' tab. The setting items are identical in tabs.

    Note: The settings in the Color Button tab or Black Button tab can be operated respectively when you push the <Color Start> button or the <Black Start> button on the operation panel if the printer is in SCAN mode.

  4. In Event pop-up, select the preferred action when the button is pressed on the operation panel.

Save to PC

:

Save the captured image data on your computer.
Save as PDF file

:

Save the captured image data as PDF files on your computer.
Attach to E-mail

:

Attach the captured image data to E-mail.
Open with application

:

Open the captured image data with the selected application.

Note: To scan one side or sides of documents using the ADF (Auto Document Feeder), select (ADF Simplex) or (ADF Duplex) from the Event list.

Save to PC / Save as PDF File

  1. When Save to PC or Save as PDF File is selected, click 'Specify' (next to Automatically save the image to your computer after scanning it) in section Actions Save Settings box.
  2. In the Save Settings window, browse to the folder to save the file, enter a file name and select the appropriate file type, then click 'OK' to save the settings and close the window.
  3. You can also set the save dialog box to open after scanning by clicking radio button Open the save dialog box after scanning the image.
  4. In section Actions Scan Settings box, click 'Specifiy' to select a Document Type, Document Size and Scanning Resolution. You can also select Descreen, Unsharp Mask, Correct the inclination of text documents and Detect the orientation of text documents and rotate images. After the settings are changed, click 'OK' to close the Scan Settings dialog box and return Preference.

Attach to E-mail

  1. When Attach to E-mail is selected, click 'Specify' (next to Automatically attach the image to e-mail after scanning it) in section Actions Attachment Settings box.
  2. In the Send via E-mail window, browse to the folder to save the file, enter a file name, file size and select the appropriate file type, then click 'OK' to save the settings and close the window.
  3. You can also select to manually attach the scanned image or select the e-mail program setup on the Preference dialog box and the attachment file size. Then click 'OK' to save the settings and close the Send via E-mail window.

Open with application

  1. When Open with application is selected (in section Actions Application Settings box), click the pop-up menu to select the application to which the image data is to be passed. The selected application starts after the image is scanned.
  2. In section Actions Scan Settings box, click 'Specifiy' to select a Document Type, Document Size and Scanning Resolution. You can also select Descreen and Unsharp Mask. After the settings are changed, click 'OK' to close the Scan Settings dialog box and return Preference.
  1. Click 'OK'.
