Transporting / Storing the printer

Follow the instructions below for transporting / storing the printer:

When relocating the printer or storing the printer for a long period of time, pack the printer using the original packing materials. If you do not have the original packing materials, pack the printer carefully using protective material and place inside a sturdy box.

Packing the printer

  1. Turn the printer off using the <Power> button.

Note: Do not remove the ink tanks or print head.

  2. Ensure that the POWER lamp is off and unplug the printer's power cord.

Important: Do not unplug the printer while the POWER lamp is lit or flashing to protect the printer from damage.

  3. Retract the paper output tray, and fold down the paper rest. For models with removable paper trays, the paper output tray and paper rest should be removed.

  4. Disconnect the printer cable from the computer and from the printer, and then disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  5. Secure the printer with adhesive tape, and then pack it in a plastic bag.

  6. Attach protective material to sides of the printer when packing the printer.

Note: If possible, use the original packing materials.

Shipping the printer

Before shipping the printer by special delivery or post:

  • Tape the lid of the box securely with strong tape.
  • Clearly label the box as "FRAGILE" or "HANDLE WITH CARE".
