Notes:
1. For optimum use of the BJC-5000 series printer, be sure to install cartridges.
2. If you install the BC-23 Enhanced Black cartridge in Holder 1 the printer will print black only regardless of the cartridge in Holder 2. An exception is when "Black ink only" is selected and two BC-23's are installed. The printer will then use cartridges for fast black printing.
3. You cannot install the BC-22e Photo BJ Cartridge in Holder 1 with the BJC-5000 printer (not applicable to the BJC-5100).
4. For Seven-color photo printing use the BC-21e and BC-22e combination.
Listed below are the ink cartridges that can be used with your printer. For legal reasons, all advertised ink consumption figures are verified by independent testing laboratories.
The BC-21e Color BJ Cartridge and print head system lasts for approximately 4000 pages at 15% coverage, or should be replaced after using 20 BCI Color BJ Tanks. Use this cartridge to print outstanding color and true black printing. The BCI-21 Black BJ Tank lasts for approximately 200 pages at 3.75% coverage. The BCI-21 Color BJ Tank lasts for approximately 200 pages at 3.75% coverage of each color. Dependent upon the speed of the computer the BC-21e can print up to 2 pages per minute.
The BC-23 Enhanced Black BJ Cartridge and print head system lasts for approximately 900 pages of text at 5% coverage. Use the BC-23 Enhanced Black Cartridge for high-speed Enhanced Black (using two BC-23 BJ Cartridges) or Enhanced Black with Spot Color (when using BC-21e Color and BC-23 Enhanced Black BJ Cartridges).
The BC-22e Photo BJ Cartridge and print head system lasts for approximately 90 pages of text at 15% coverage of each color. Use the BC-22e Photo BJ Cartridge when printing photo images. For best results use High Resolution Paper.
Choosing the correct ink cartridge and paper can improve the quality of the print output while maintaining economical printing costs.
