- Be sure your Canon printer is connected to your computer via the USB port.
- Turn on your computer and let it boot up.
- After your computer has fully booted, turn on your printer.
- A screen appears titled New Hardware found, Update Device Driver Wizard, or New Hardware Wizard. Click 'Next'. Let Windows search for a new driver. Specify your CD-ROM drive as the location Windows will search, and insert the CD that came with your printer into the CD_ROM drive. Click 'Next'.
- Once Windows detects the driver on the CD, follow the on screen instructions to complete the driver installation.
- If setup does not continue automatically after the driver installation, click the Windows 'Start' button and select 'Run'.
- Type x:\Setup.exe, where "x" is the drive letter of your computer's CD-ROM drive (your CD-ROM drive may have a different drive letter).
- Click 'OK'.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the installation.
