Delete Printer Preferences and Reinstall the Driver

After installing the Canon software and restarting the computer, the printer name does not appear on the right-hand side of the Chooser window.

  1. Shut down your computer and turn off the printer (for the BJC-2100 series and S200 unplug the power cord).

  2. Confirm the printer cable is securely plugged into the computer and the other end is fastened to the USB port on the printer.

  3. Turn the printer on (plug in the power cord for the BJC-2100/S200). Wait until the printer stops moving then turn on your computer.

  4. On the left-hand side of the Chooser window, click on your printer, confirm the printer name appears on the right-hand side of the window then select it.

  5. If the printer name still does not appear on the right, open your Hard Drive icon from the Desktop. Open the System folder. Open the Preferences folder and locate "BJ-BACK" and "BJ-PREFS". Send to the Trash. Restart the computer and empty the Trash once back to the Desktop.

  6. On the left-hand side of the Chooser window, click your printer. Confirm the printer name appears on the right-hand side of the window then select it.
