Setting documents with the scanner in the upright position

Important

Make sure to use the supplied stand to use the scanner in the upright position.
The stand can be attached to only the location shown in the figure. Do not attach to the stand another location or the hook may be broken.

  1. Place the document with its side to be scanned facing the platen and align the top edge with the alignment mark.

    Reference
    The area within up to 2.5mm from the alignment mark cannot be scanned.

    Important

    Do not open the document cover fully when the scanner is in the upright position or the scanner may fall down.

  2. Close the document cover, being careful so that the document will not slip.

    Important

    When you scan in the upright position, do not vibrate the scanner while it is working.
    Otherwise, the scanned image may be blurred or not scanned correctly.

* Removing the stand

To remove the stand, push down the hook to release and then lift the scanner.
