Sound memo function - PowerShot A630 and A640
In replay mode (including single replay, index replay and magnifying replay) you can attach sound memos (up to 60 seconds) to an image. The sound data is saved in WAVE format.

Attaching a sound memo to an image
- Turn on the camera and set it to Replay mode.
- Press the <MENU> button, and select [ Sound Memo] in the (Replay) menu.
- The most recently saved image on the memory card will appear.
- Use the or button to select an image to which to attach a sound memo and press .
- The sound memo panel will display.
- Select ( Record) and press .
- The camera is not recording audio.
- The elapsed time and the remaining time display.
- Pressing the <FUNC./SET> button pauses the recording. Pressing it again resumes recording.
- Up to 60 seconds of recordings can be added to any one image.
- Press the <MENU> button when finished recording.

To playback a sound memo on the camera
- Turn on the camera and set it to Replay mode.
- Press the <MENU> button, select [ Sound Memo] in the [ (Replay)] menu, and press .
- Using the and buttons, select an image that has a symbol displayed, and press .
- Images with sound memos will have a symbol displayed in the upper right corner of the display, next to the file number.
- The Sound Memo Panel will appear at the bottom of the LCD display.
- Press the to start the sound memo playback.
- Press the button again to pause or stop playback.
- When finished, press the <MENU> button to exit.
To remove a sound memo from an image

Turn on the camera and set it to Replay mode.

Press the <MENU> button, select [ Sound Memo] in the (Replay) menu, and press .

Using the and buttons, select and image that has a symbol displayed, and press .
- Images with sound memos will have a symbol displayed in the upper right corner of the display, next to the file number.
- The Sound Memo Panel will appear at the bottom of the LCD display.

Using the button, select , and press .
- A confirmation message will appear.

Select [Erase], and press .

Press the <MENU> button to exit.
