Does the Canon digital video camera come with editing software?

Canon DV Camcorders are not bundled with any computer software to download video via the IEEE-1394 connection on the camera. To download video and still images to a computer requires an IEEE-1394 interface (Firewire), an IEEE-1394 cable, and appropriate video capture/editing software. Kits containing the appropriate OHCI compatible capture card and software for this 'firewire' technology are commercially available.

Those digital video cameras that come equipped with seperate US ports for downloading video and still images stored on the seperate MMC/SD card. The Canon Digital Video Solution Disk shipped with these units does contain the USB driver for communicating with the camera and still image editing software.
