Procedure for setting the DV output standard for the VIXIA HV20, HV30, and HV40 camcorders

Solution

You can select the video standard to use when connecting to an external device using the HDV/DV terminal.

[HDV/DV]: Switch automatically between standards to match the original standard of the recordings.

[DV LOCKED]: All video output will be in DV standard (recordings made in HDV will be down-converted).

NOTE: The DV output cannot be changed while a DV cable is connected to the HDV/DV terminal.

  1. Turn the camcorder on in [TAPE PLAY] mode.
  2. Press the <FUNC.> button.
  3. Using the joystick select <MENU> and press <SET>.
  4. Select [DV OUTPUT] and press <SET>.
  5. Select [HDV/DV] or [DV LOCKED] and press <SET>.
  6. Select [RETURN] and press <SET>.
  7. Press the <FUNC.> button to close the menu.
