Events Settings for Scanner Buttons (5600F, LiDE 100, LiDE 200)

By modifying the Events settings in Scanners and Cameras, you can control what happens when scanner button is pressed.

Scanners and Cameras is located within the control panel. Typically, Scanners and Cameras is accessed by clicking the Start button and then clicking Control Panel.

The following is explained using Windows Vista procedures.

  1. From Control Panel, double-click Scanners and Cameras.
  2. Right-click on your scanner model and select Properties.
  3. From the scanner properties window, click the Events tab.

  4. Click the dropdown menu next to "Select an event:" and select the scanner button that you wish to set
  5. Once selected, you have the following options.
    • Start this program
(This allows you to select which program should launch when the button is pressed. If you simple want MP Navigator EX to launch, then you would click the dropdown after clicking the radio button, then select MP Navigator EX from the list.)
    • Prompt for which program to run
(With this option selected, when a scanner button is pressed, you will be prompted which application you would like to launch.)
    • Take no action
(Selecting this option will cause the buttons to do nothing when pressed.)

IMPORTANT! The settings for each button are set independently. You should verify the settings for each button.
