This section explains the meanings of the red icons and what to do when a red icon appears on the LCD screen.

Problem/Solution
No cassette, or the cassette is protected. < Solution > - Load a cassette. - Check whether the position of the protect switch is set to REC.
Card error occurred. < Solution > - Turn off the camcorder. - Remove and reinsert the memory card. - Initialize the memory card if flashing persists.
Battery is exhausted. < Solution > - Replace or charge the battery pack.
Condensation is detected. < Solution > - Remove the cassette immediately and leave the cassette compartment open. After the condensation warning stops flashing, wait for 1 more hour before resuming use.
The camcorder malfunctions. < Solution > - Consult a Canon Service Center.
