When an image is blurry or cannot be brought into focus during shooting, there are certain tips to help overcome this.
You can prevent camera shake by holding the camera firmly.
Your camera includes functions for detecting and setting the focus on your subjects, but it may not focus as you intended. For these situations, for portrait photography use the camera in portrait mode, use macro shooting for subjects that are right nearby, and landscape mode shooting for subjects that are far away.
When you press the shutter button halfway in low light conditions where camera shake is likely, a flashing (
) will appear. In this case, you can increase the [
ISO Speed] to reduce camera shake.
Also, shooting with the Focus Lock, Manual Focus,* or use of a tripod or steady surface can help.
There are cases where monotone subjects with low contrast cannot be brought into focus, in this case try to focus the camera where there is contrast at the same distance, and recompose the shot.
If the focusing zone** setting does not match with the shooting conditions, there are cases where the subject cannot be brought into focus.
* On models with Manual Focus available.
