Select the correct SSID (Network name) for using the printer via wireless LAN - MP980 Mac OS X

Solution

Verify the SSID (Network Name)

Check the printer Setting

  1. Make sure that the machine is turned on.

  2. Use the Easy-Scroll Wheel or the arrow keys to select <Settings> on the HOME screen, then press the <OK> button.
    The Settings screen is displayed.

  3. Use the Easy-Scroll Wheel or the arrow keys to select [Device settings], then press the <OK> button.
    The Device settings screen is displayed.

  4. Use the Easy-Scroll Wheel or the arrow keys to select LAN settings, then press the <OK> button.

  5. Use the Easy-Scroll Wheel or the arrow keys to select Wireless LAN setting list, then press the <OK> button.

  6. Note the listing for SSID



Check the SSID on the computer

  1. Click the Airport Icon

  2. Note the SSID name (the one with the check mark to the left).



  3. Compare this with the SSID from the the Wireless LAN setting list of the printer. If it is different , select (click) the same SSID as that of the printer.
