Install the non-CUPS Printer Driver

Note: When selecting the driver for download, the the non-CUPS driver will have a version number less than 10.0.0.
Example:
non-CUPS - version 7.3.2 (use this one)
CUP driver - version 10.1.0 (not this one)

After installing the non-CUPS printer driver, make sure the printer is connected, powered on and near the computer, and then add the printer to the Print and Fax preferences.

1. Open System Preferences - Print & Fax.
   
   
   
   Note: If you already have your printer listed in the printer list on the left, select it, and then click the (-) button to remove the printer from the list.
   
   
2. Click +.
   
   A dialog for selecting the printer opens and a list of connected printers appears. Click the 'Bluetooth' at the top of the screen if the printer is connected via Bluetooth.
   
   
   
   
3. Select the connected printer you want to use.
   
   
4. In the 'Print Using' pop-up menu, select 'Canon IJ printer'.
   
   Note: Do not select 'Canon iPxxx series' because it is the CUPS driver.
   
   
5. Click 'Add'. The connected printer is added, and is ready for use.
