Place two checks or check-stock paper together in the document tray up against the shutter (see Figure 2).
Press and hold down the stop button for about five (5) seconds until the shutter opens. Slide two documents between the feed and separation rollers and stop as shown in Figure 3. (See NOTE if unable to feed the two documents through the gap).
NOTE: If unable to slide the two documents through the gap, rotate the adjustment dial to the right until the two documents easily slide through the gap.
Open the latch and swing open the maintenance cover 1 and maintenance cover 2.
While in position, gently slide back the front document before the feed and separation rollers.
While the back document remains in place between the separation and feed roller, rotate the adjustment dial to the left in small increments while continuously attempting to slide the front document (in front of the back document) through the roller gap. Adjust the dial until the second document does not feed easily back through the gap. (See Figure 4).
Close the maintenance covers.
Remove the documents from the paper path, automatically closing the shutter.
