Aligning the Print Head

Note: Automatic Print Head Alignment cannot be performed from the cassette. Always load paper in the Rear Tray.

1. Open the Paper Output Tray gently, and extend to open the Output Tray Extension.

2. With the printer on, load one sheet of Letter-sized Canon Matte Photo Paper MP-101 with the printing side (whiter side) facing UP in the Rear Tray.

Note: Automatic print head alignment cannot be performed from the cassette (front feeder).

3. Hold down the < Resume/Cancel > button (just below the Power button) until the POWER light flashes green four times, and then release it immediately. The automatic alignment will then start.

The print head alignment pattern is printed. Do not open the Top Cover while printing. The print head position is adjusted automatically when the print head alignment pattern finishes printing.
