You can often correct print issues or clear an error when you reseat the print head.
Reseat the print head
-
Turn the power ON and gently open the paper output tray.
-
Lift the scanning unit (printer cover) all the way up. The print head moves to the replacement position.
-
Remove the ink tanks one at a time. Push the tab (A) and lift the tank to remove.
Don't touch the print head lock lever (B).
-
Raise the print head lock lever.
-
Tilt the print head slightly towards the front of the machine and gently lift it out.
Don't touch the print head nozzles (1), electrical contacts (2), or ink supply ports (3). If you do, it may cause printing problems.
-
Place the print head in the print head holder and lower the print head lock lever carefully until you hear a click.
-
Reinsert the ink tanks one at a time. Press the PUSH mark on the ink tank until you hear a click.
-
Close the inner cover and the scanning unit (printer cover), and be careful not to jam your fingers.
The print head will begin an automatic cleaning when you start the next print task. Wait for it to finish.
