Description

If using a USB cable that was not bundled with the scanner, the scanner may not be recognized by the computer.

Solution

If using a USB cable that was not bundled with the scanner, the scanner may not be recognized by the computer. In this instance, use the USB cable provided with the scanner. The scanner cannot be guaranteed to work with all available USB cables.

If you have verified that the cable is the one that came with the scanner and is functioning properly, it is possible that the Windows assigned USB ID has become corrupted and needs to be reset. To do this, please download (and run) the "Restoration Tool for Windows Registry" (located under the "Utilities" tab of "Drivers & Downloads" on the scanner product page). The function of this tool is to reassign the USB ID's to the correct scanners. Once the tool has been run, please restart your computer and then attempt to connect to the scanner again.

NOTE: This is a Windows ONLY utility.
