Select correct SSID (Network name) to use on wireless LAN - MX860 Windows

Solution

 

Check the printer settings

  1. Make sure that the machine is turned on, then press the Menu button.

  2. Use the button to select Settings, then press the OK button.

  3. Use the button to select Device settings, then press the OK button.

    The Device settings screen is displayed.

  4. Use the button to select LAN Settings, then press the OK button.

  5. Use the button to select WLAN Settings list then press the OK button.
    The setting screen is displayed.

  6. Check the SSID listing


Check the SSID on the computer

  1. Click the appropriate Network icon in the system tray

    Windows XP: Windows Vista: Windows 7:




  2. Note the SSID name (Network name).

    Windows 7:






  3. Compare this with the SSID from the the Wireless LAN setting list of the printer. If it is different , connect to the same SSID as that of the printer.
