Your fax machine will operate differently dependent on the selected receive mode. To manually receive a fax, it is recommended to connect a phone to the fax machine and then answer the call using that extension phone. Click here for instructions to connect a phone to your fax.

When TEL priority mode is selected:

When the call is a fax: Pick up the handset. If you hear the fax tone, wait for at least 5 seconds after it stops, then hang up the handset.

Note:

  • If the machine will not switch to the fax, press the FAX button, then the Color or Black button to receive the fax.
  • When an answering machine is connected to the fax, set User-friendly reception to ON. Click here for detailed instructions.

When the call is a voice call: The telephone attached to the fax will ring. Pick up the handset to answer the call.

For remote receiving: If you are far from your machine, dial 25 (the remote receiving ID) on the telephone attached to the fax to receive faxes.

Note: Telephone being used, such as a base station for a cordless phone, must be connected through the fax for the remote receiving function to work.
