CAUTION  Do not connect the USB cable yet. You will be prompted to connect it during the installation using the Setup CD-ROM.
WindowsIMPORTANT - Quit all applications before installation.
- Log on using an administrator account.
- Internet connection may be required during the installation. Connection fees apply.
Screens are based on Windows 7 operating system Home Premium. Actual screens may differ depending on the OS version. 1. Insert the CD-ROM into the computer. IMPORTANT If the USB cable is already connected, unplug it. If a message appears on the computer, click Cancel.
2. Click Run Msetup4.exe on the AutoPlay screen, then click Yes or Continue on the User Account Control dialog box. If the User Account Control dialog box reappears in following steps, click Yes or Continue. REFERENCE If the CD-ROM does not autorun: Double-click (My) Computer > CDROM icon > MSETUP4.EXE.
3. Click [Next]. REFERENCE When the .NET Framework screen appears, click [Yes].
4. Click [Next]. REFERENCE Easy-WebPrint EX is Web print software that is installed on the computer when installing the supplied software. Internet Explorer 7 or later (Windows) is required to use this software. An Internet connection is required for installation.
Follow any on-screen instructions to proceed with the software installation. - Important Information for the Installation When the Printer Connection screen appears, connect the printer to the computer with a USB cable. After connecting the cable, TURN ON THE PRINTER. 5. Click [Next]. - If the Extended Survey Program screen appears
If you can agree to Extended Survey Program, click Agree. If you click Do not agree, the Extended Survey Program will not be installed. (This has no effect on the printer's functionality.) - If the Test Print screen appears
Test printing will be performed to check the printer's operation. Load plain paper into the printer and click [Execute]. After test printing, click [Next]. To skip test printing, click [Next] instead of [Execute]. 6. Click [Exit] to complete the installation. Remove the Setup CD-ROM and keep it in a safe place. 7. Quick Menu starts. REFERENCE - Installing the XPS Printer Driver
In Windows 7 and Windows Vista SP1 or later, the XPS Printer Driver can be installed additionally.In order to perform the installation, select [XPS Driver] in the step 4 of [Windows].
MacintoshIMPORTANT - Connect the computer to the Internet before the installation.
- Quit all applications before installation.
Screens are based on Mac OS X v.10.7. Actual screens may differ depending on the OS version. 1. Insert the CD-ROM into the computer. IMPORTANT If the USB cable is already connected, unplug it. If a message appears on the computer, click Cancel.
2. Double-click the [Setup] icon in the CD-ROM folder, then click [Download] in the subsequent window.
REFERENCE - When the CD-ROM folder does not open automatically, double-click the CD-ROM icon displayed on the desktop.
- The screen below is displayed while downloading.
- If you click [Cancel] while downloading, you will see the following screen.
- If you click [No], you will return to the screen displayed while downloading. - If you click [Yes], the download is cancelled. In this case, the files under the download are deleted. - When the download fails, the screen below is displayed.
Click [OK], and you will go back to the screen for downloading in the procedure 2.
3. When the download is complete, the screen below is displayed. Click [Next]. REFERENCE Select "Save a file for setting up the software again to the download folder after the installation is complete," and the file will be saved to the download folder. You can perform the setup later using this file.
4. In the subsequent screen, enter the administrator name and password. Then click [OK]. 5. Click [Next]. 6. Click [Next].
