Description

My camcorder will not power on.

Solution

Your camcorder will not power on under the following conditions:

  1. Your compact power adapter is not properly connected to your camcorder.

     2.  Your compact power adapter or power cord is defective and needs to be replaced.

  •     Confirm your compact power adapter is working properly, follow these steps:

               Turn the camcorder off.

Connect the compact power adapter and remove the battery pack.

Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.

               Turn the camcorder on.

If your camcorder powers on with your compact power adapter, your battery pack may be exhausted and needs to be replaced.

     3.  You are using an incompatible or generic battery pack.

  • We recommend you either use the original battery pack that came with your camcorder and/or a Canon genuine battery pack.

     4.  Your camcorder is malfunctioning and requires service.

  • If your camcorder still does not power on or powers on for only a short period of time then turns off, the camcorder will require service.
