- Ensure the USB cable is connected directly to the computer

Press the Stop button to clear the error. Scanning over a network using the operation panel can only be performed using MP Navigator EX. To scan using the operation panel to an application other than MP Navigator EX, please connect a USB cable from the printer to your computer. Then follow the software manufacturer's user's manual to scan using Canon ScanGear TWAIN or WIA driver. - When message MP Navigator has stopped working appears
