Set Up Wirelessly Using WPS - PIXMA MG3220 / MG3222

Learn how to connect your PIXMA MG3220/MG3222 printer to your home network using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup™).

Solution

WPS allows you to connect your printer to a wireless network even if you don't know the wireless SSID (or password). All you need is a Wi-Fi® router that supports WPS.


Use WPS to set up your printer

  1. Check your router for a WPS symbol (see the example below). If you see this symbol, continue with the connection process.
    Note (If you need help with this, check the manual or online instructions for your router.)

  1. Turn the printer ON and make sure the power lamp Image of ON - OFF button is lit.
  2. Press and hold the Maintenance button Image of Maintenance button. on the printer for about 5 seconds.

  3. Press the Fit to Page button. The LED flashes and the Wi-Fi lamp flashes blue while searching for an access point.

  4. Press and hold the WPS button on the access point (about 5 seconds).
     Note (If you need help with this, check the manual or online instructions for your router.)

  1. ​When the Wi-Fi lamp is steadily blue (no longer flashing), the printer is connected to the wireless network.
    Note If a timeout error Image of Timeout Error - E 2 1 appears in the LED, press the Color or Black button, then start again from Step 1.

Good to know

If you don't have the printer drivers and software installed on your computer, you can use the Setup CD that came with your printer or download the drivers and software from our site.
