Solution

Cause

If you have the Copy Intensity on your printer set to Auto adjust and you put a document in the ADF (Auto Document Feeder), you will see the message "Cannot scan from ADF."



Action

To avoid this error message, set the Copy Intensity to Manual adjust, or place the document directly on the scanner's glass surface and copy using Auto adjust.

Here's how to do that:
  • Set the Copy Intensity to Manual adjust
  1. Make sure that the machine is turned ON.

  2. Press the Menu button.

  3. Press the Left Right left or right arrow to select Copy intensity, then press the OK button.

  4. ​Press the Left  Right left or right arrow to select Manual adjust, and then press the OK button.

    Note If you select Manual adjust, use the Left left arrow to decrease the intensity or the Right right arrow button to increase the intensity, and press OK.
  • Use Auto adjust
  1. Lift the scanner cover (1) and load the original (2) on the scanner surface with the print side facing down.

  2. Press the COPY button to return to standby mode.

  3. Attempt to copy again.
