Learn how set up your PIXMA MG3220 or MG3222 and Windows computer wirelessly with a USB cable.

Solution

Follow the steps below to perform the setup.
 

Before you begin

 Review the information before you get started.

  • Please have the access point (router) or network name (SSID) and the network key or password ready.

  • Refer to access point's instruction manual if you have any questions, or you may contact the manufacturer for help.

  • Quit all applications before installation.

  • Log on with an administrator account.

  • Internet connection may be required. Connection fees apply.

  • The necessary environment and the procedures for printer wireless connection.

  • Follow the links below if you do not have a CD-ROM drive or if you have misplaced your CD.

    • Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 8.1 users:

      • Download the Mini Master Setup for your printer

      • After the Mini Master Setup is launched, follow the directions below. 

      • The Mini Master Setup contains the MP Drivers and the IJ Network Tool only. You will need to obtain the additional applications under the Software tab on your printer's support page.

    • Windows 10 users:

      • Download the MP Drivers for your printer

      • The installation procedure differs from the Mini Master Setup and CD-ROM installation procedure. 

      • Follow any on-screen instructions to set up the wireless connection for your printer.

  • Screens are based on Windows 7 operating system Home Premium. Actual screens may differ based on the OS version.

 

Wireless setup with a USB cable

  1. Insert the CD-ROM into the computer.

 If the USB cable is already connected, unplug it. If a message appears on the computer, select Cancel.

  • Select Run Msetup4.exe on the AutoPlay screen, then select Yes or Continue on the User Account Control dialog box.

  • If the CD-ROM does not autorun, double-click (My) Computer, CD-ROM icon, and, MSETUP4.EXE.

  • If the User Account Control dialog box reappears, select Yes or Continue.

    Run the software

  1. Select Next.

  2. Select Wireless Connection.

  3. Select Connect to the network. Follow the on screen instructions.

  4. If an error message is displayed, see 'Troubleshooting' on the right side of the screen.

  6. If the .NET Framework screen appears, select Yes.

  7. Select Next to install the software. Follow any on-screen instructions to proceed with the software installation.

  Easy-WebPrint EX is Web print software that is installed with the supplied software. Internet Explorer 7 or later is required to use this software. An Internet connection is required for installation.

  1. If the Detected Access Points List screen appears, select the access point, and choose Connect.

  2. If 'Connect' is grayed out, the access point you selected may be encrypted.

  3. To connect to this access point, enter the network key or password, and then select Connect.

  4. When the Setup Completion dialog box appears, select Complete.

  5. Select Next.

    Select Next.

  6. The Extended Survey Program screen appears. Select Agree or Do not agree. Your selection will have no effect on the printer's functionality.

  7. The Test Print window is displayed. Load plain paper and select Execute. Select Next when finished. Choose Next instead of Execute to skip this step.

  8. Select Exit to complete the installation.

 Remove the Setup CD-ROM and keep it in a safe place.
