Solution

If any of the following situations exist

  • You have replaced your Router or Access Point
  • You want to use a different wireless network
  • Router settings have been changed.

Please complete the following steps to apply the new configuration settings to your multifunction.

 

Preparing to Connect the Multifunction To the Network

Network Requirements

Before connecting the machine to the network, make sure that configuration of the computer and access point or router iscomplete, and that the computer is connected to the network.

 

Wireless Connection

Before connecting the machine to the network, the computer needs to be connected to the network. Make sure thatconfiguration of the computer and access point or router is complete.

Note: An "Ad-hoc connection," which establishes a direct connection to the computer over a wireless connection without using an access point, is not supported.

 

Notes on Network Connection

  • The configuration, router functions, setup procedures and security settings of the network device vary depending on your system environment. For details, refer to your device's instruction manual or contact its manufacturer.
     
  • In an office setup, consult your network administrator
     
  • If you connect to a network that is not protected with security measures, there is a risk of disclosing data such as your personal information to a third party.

 

Connect the PIXMA MG6220 on Your Wireless Network

To re-establish communication on the network after changing the router / Access Point or when connecting to a different network,the settings on the Multifunction need to be changed

Simply insert the Setup CD-ROM that came with your printer into your CD-ROM drive and proceed through the instructions. If the following screen appears, select the Start Setup Again option.

Be sure to select Wireless Connection on the Connection Method Selection screen.

 

If you can’t find your CD-ROM, you may download the MG6200 series Mini Master Setup, which includes the same step-by-step installation as the CD-ROM, by following the instructions below:

  1. Click here to access the PIXMA MG6220 page.
  2. Click Drivers & Downloads.
  3. If your computer's operating system is not automatically detected, select it in the drop down menu.
  4. Click the Recommended Downloads tab if it is not initially selected.  Click Select to the right of the listing for the Mini Master Setup.
  5. Place a check in the box to indicate that you agree to the terms of the Disclaimer.  Then, click the Download button to save the file to your computer.
  6. Once the download is complete, double-click the file from its download location* to begin the installation.


      


    *On Mac computers

    The usual location for downloaded files is the “Downloads” folder which can be accessed by its icon on the dock. If this is not the case, check in the General settings of the Preferences for Safari or Firefox to determine the location for downloaded files. In Chrome this is in the Under the Hood section of Preferences.

*On Windows computers:

Internet Explorer - User specified during download procedure

Firefox - Default is Downloads folder or as User defined in Tools-> Options -> General

Chrome - Default is Downloads folder or as User defined in -> Options -> Under the Hood

Safari - Default is My Documents folder or as User defined in -> Preferences -> General
