Locate and resolve paper jams in the PIXMA MG3220 / MG3222 printer.
Solution
Follow the steps below to remove a paper jam from the front of the machine (output slot), the back of the machine (transport unit) or the inside of the machine
Remove a paper jam from the front
If you can see the jammed paper in the paper output slot, follow these steps:
Slowly pull out the paper with both hands so the paper doesn't tear. If you can't pull the paper out, turn the machine off and back on. The paper may eject automatically. Be careful not to force the paper out or it may damage the machine.
Reload the paper, and tap the Stop / Reset button on the machine. If you turned off the machine in step 1, all print jobs in the queue will cancel. To prevent jams, we recommend paper other than A5 size to print documents.
Remove a paper jam from the back
If you can't see the paper at the paper output slot or at the front tray, you will need to remove the paper from the transport unit.
Turn the machine off, then unplug the power cord.
Close the document cover, then stand the machine up with the right side facing down.
If you can see the jammed paper at the front tray, stand the machine with the front tray open.
Stand the machine on a wide and flat surface such as a desk.
When you stand the machine, hold it securely and be careful not to hit it on a hard object.
Push the openlever(A) to open the transport unit.
Support the machine with your hand so that it doesn't fall down.
Slowly pull out the jammed paper. If the paper is rolled up, graps the edge of the paper to remove it.
Close the transport unit and return the printer to it's normal position.
Plug the machine back in and turn the machine back on.
Reload the paper and reprint if necessary.
Remove paper jams inside the machine
If you can't remove the paper from the front or back of the machine, or if the paper tears and jams inside the machine, following the steps below.
Turn off the machine, and unplug the power cord from the power supply.
Open the paper output cover and remove any paper from the front tray.
Be careful not to touch the clear film (A). If the paper or your hands blot or scratch the film, the machine can be damaged.
If the jammed paper is under the cartridge holder, grasp the holder and slowly slide it to the right or left edge (whichever is easier).
Hold the jammed paper with your hands.
If the paper is rolled up, pull it out slowly.
Make sure that all the jammed paper is removed. Check the following:
Is there any paper under the FINE cartridge holder?
Is there any small paper still inside the machine?
Is there any paper remain in the right side or the left side space (B) inside the machine?
Close the paper output cover, reload the paper and peprint if necessary. If an error message displays, a piece of paper may remain inside the machine. If this happens, make sure no piece remains inside the machine.
Good to know
If paper jams during automatic duplex printing, follow the steps below.
Hold the paper with your hands and slowly pull it out. Pulling the paper out forcibly from the front tray may damage the machine.
Reload the paper, and press the Stop / Reset button on the machine. If you can't remove the paper, follow the steps above to to remove a paper jam inside the machine.

Check 1: Are there any foreign objects around the paper output slot?
Check 2: Is the paper curled?
